With the tools of process drama, we tell the story about the young woman Alma in the early twentieth-century Finland. Alma is diagnosed an unhealable psychopath, and after having been shuttled between different mental hospitals she finally ends up on the women’s sanitary of Själö. In the end, the only option remaining, in means of returning home, is to pass through a surgery that will make Alma sterile.
The thematics of the play are, amongst others, the situation of the poor, the women and the culture of physiology in the Finland of that time.
