In Water Concert, the performers play water with their bodies, electronics, gong, and various found objects. They bubble and make crooked rhythms and loops. They don’t tell stories about water. They imagine, dream, and listen – with water. Water Concert is a hymn for water, the foundation of all life.
Juha Valkeapää is a sound artist and performance maker. Juhani Liimatainen is a sound artist, sound designer, and Professor Emeritus in sound design. Pietu Pietiäinen is a light and video artist-designer.
Valkeapää and Liimatainen created Lintukonsertti in 2018, which has been performed at seven festivals and on the radio. Valkeapää and Pietiäinen have worked together several times since 2004. Their latest collaboration includes the installation Totuus that could be seen on the island Ärjä in Oulujärvi in August 2019 and at FLASH2 in November 2019.
