In 2025, the 20th Antonia Award will be presented to a Finnish-Swedish work that has shown artistic bravery and diversity. The award is named after one of the festival’s founders, Antonia Ringbom, and the jury changes every year, consisting of various professional groups in the art field.
The 2025 jury consists of film professionals: Kaya Pakaslahti (chairperson), Malin Nyqvist and Titus Poutanen.
Kaya Pakaslahti is a screenwriter and director, with an MFA in Film Directing from Göteborg filmhögskola. Central themes in Kaya’s work are codependent relationships, outsider dynamics and power struggles. In addition to her recent directing credits, the thriller Lindas rum and the absurdist comedy Limbo, Kaya is working on writing the script for her debut feature film, Andras känslor, with the help of a one-year artist grant by the Swedish Cultural Foundation in Finland.
Malin Nyqvist is a director, screenwriter and DJ. Nyqvist’s latest works are the absurd comedy Kiitos elämä for YLE, and the Swedish-Finnish youth series Girl code for SVT, premiering in November 2024. Nyqvist has also directed music videos for Vesala and Ricky-Tick Big Band, among others, the former of which received an Emma nomination and the latter was nominated at the prestigious British music video festival Aestethica. Nyqvist is currently writing their debut feature film.
Titus Poutanen is a director, producer and actor. Titus’ main diet is playful comedy. He works with all forms of moving images, from drama to documentary and TV. Recent works directed for Yle include Drakar 2022, Restaurang Miljon 2022, Knark 2022 och Mårten Mickos – Från Otnäs till Silicon Valley 2024. Titus is currently working on a series about Finnish-Swedish hip hop.
The Antonia Award will be presented during Hangö Teaterträff 2025, which will be celebrated on 5–8 June.
