“There is no theatre without conflict. Conflict is one of the fundamental principles of theatre. Without conflict, there is no tension, and without tension, there is no release. This year, we would like to invite you to a festival with conflict as its focus. We ask ourselves whether the performing arts of today remember this starting point, or whether theatre has, on the contrary, become an expert in mediating and resolving conflict. This year, we are not looking for solutions. Instead, we try to find tensions, differences of opinion, friction and conflicting directions. Perhaps we’ll find new ways of existing in this friction? Or will we find new paths that bring us closer together, or further apart?”
“Who are we really, we who make up this festival? Welcome to reflect on the question ‘Who?’ and marvel at how together, over the course of a weekend, we can create a theatre festival that experiences, renews, discusses, argues, agrees, provokes, celebrates, supports, preserves, feels, reflects and surprises. And so much more!”
