All Makt åt Helvete: Morjens Tristesse – en vanföreställning

Price: 12 Length: 1 h 20 min. Language: Swedish

Of ancient nobility, the bored siblings Gyllenstråhle have lived confined and isolated lives in a place where time seems to have stopped – and yet the world keeps on spinning as fast as it can. “Time is money,” it says on the family coat of arms. If you’re nobility and rich, you have aeons of time and therefore an inclination to boredom. Time is something you kill. Or is time the death of you? Welcome to witnessing the most drawn-out double-suicide in the history of the world. You might win a bicycle!

The performance is part of Hangö Teaterträff festival’s Open Call, launched in 2018. Its purpose is to encourage young performing artists and work groups to create new works that challenge and broaden the concept of theatre and Finland-Swedish performance arts.

All Makt åt Helvete is a theatre group founded in 2015 by actors Andrea Björkholm and Nils Granberg. While at Turteatern’s artist residence in Stockholm, the actors created the embryo of what would a few years later become Morjens Tristesse. Björkholm and Granberg are in charge of the performance’s script, visual whole and acting. Py Huss Wallin has assisted in direction. The performance is a co-production with Sweden-based theatre group Svärmen.
