RÅMATERIAL (Raw Material) is a project that explores the documentary as a tool and starting point for drama as well as the use of documentary (raw) material as core material for contemporary drama.

The project involves three playwrights working intensively on a documentary theme of their choice. The project consists of workshops in Helsinki and Hanko, where they learn about the methods and tools that playwrights working with documentary material can use in their work.

During Hangö Teaterträff, the audience can experience a public demo created by the project’s participants. Welcome along!
RÅMATERIAL is an independent continuation of Labbet’s previous projects, Futures (2023) and SMACK (2024), which also explored the possibilities of creating a play from specific perspectives.

Labbet r.f. is a non-profit organisation that has been promoting Swedish-language drama in Finland for over 20 years. Labbet organises courses and seminars, publishes books and runs projects in collaboration with other actors in the field of theatre.
