lecture

In 2022, the Feminist Secret Society of Helsinki premiered its performance Kohtaamisia (Encounters) at Helsinki City Theatre’s Stage for Contemporary Performance. In May 2023, Amanda and Olga Palo with Katri Naukkarinen led a workshop in Vilnius, during which a Lithuanian version of the performance concept was produced with Lithuanian actors. Encounters.Vilnius premiered at the international Sirenos Festival in October 2023.

In Hanko, Amanda and Olga tell us about their experiences. What impact did the performance have on the Lithuanian performing arts scene?

The lecture is part of the Nordic-Baltic seminar series PS Workshops, organised by TINFO and Hangö Teaterträff. The project maps productions made in the region in the current year that could be remade in different languages or licensed to other performing arts groups.

Feminist Secret Society of Helsinki is an artists’ collective that has existed since 2014. The collective is interested in exploring non-hierarchical ways of working, feminist issues and the combination of art forms. FSSH is a support circle and creative platform for its members. It meets regularly to discuss feminism and art. FSSH also produces occasional performances and other outputs with varying configurations.

Key speakers: Amanda Palo, Olga Palo

The event is supported by Nordic Culture Point.
