Hula Hula – Poetic images of impossibilities is a visual concert for children inspired by experimental electronic music, object theatre, and performance art.

Composer Antti Tolvi and puppeteer artist Pauliina Vesslin’s characters Pink and Bear travel from the living room carpet to other worlds with the help of various objects and the sound and music they create. Pink and Bear make visible the stories of water, light, wind, plastic bags, toilet paper, and other utensils by playing their music.

Nurinpäin Kollektiivi is a creative group of professionals from different artistic fields. The group creates art projects for children and youths, with the aim to broaden and develop non-verbal visual theatre and co-operation between various artistic fields and to create a meeting point for different generations and cultures. Working group Vesslin & Tolvi have previously created FairyCircus (2017), a performance for children with experimental electronic music and shadow theatre.

Antti Tolvi (b. 1977 in Panelia) is a sound artist and performer from Turku, Finland. Antti has been one of the most prominent names in the field of experimental music in Finland since 2002. Antti has performed on three continents and has released fourteen solo records. Since 2016, Antti has held fourteen solo exhibitions and participated in twenty-one group exhibitions. Freedom, peace, gratitude, and minimalist aesthetics are often reflected in Antti’s works, which combine sound, light, wind, water, bodily sensations, and living visual elements.

Puppeteer artist Pauliina Vesslin (b. 1976) creates Nurinpäin Kollektiivi’s performance concepts and produces, performs, and realises the puppet theatre elements within them. Pauliina also works as a multifaceted puppeteer and drama teacher. As an artist, her interest is to cross borders in performing arts and work with projects that combine movement, visuality, and music.
